Carved from the old Globe Tobacco Co. plant, the 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments feature high ceilings, hardwood floors and exposed brick and ductwork that reflect the building’s historic character.

Globe Tobacco Lofts were developed with working families in mind, with rents ranging from about $350 for a 1-bedroom apartment to $625 for a 3-bedroom apartment. Some of the apartments will be restricted to families whose incomes are within guidelines set by the federal government.  The other apartments will not have income restrictions.

The lofts will be thoroughly new, with modern kitchen appliances, washer-dryer hookups, mini-blinds, ceiling fans, walk-in closets, central air conditioning and heat pumps. Outside, the 3.2-acre site at the corner of South Main and Worth streets will have a playground and picnic area, gazebo and arbor, and sitting areas.
